Default Ran across this 66-1 Today

I found this nice old 66-1 today in the used case at a local shooting range that someone traded in. Had some handling marks and such, but it cleaned up nice. Grips appear to be original. Serial # 67K1404.
I was happy to add it to the heard. What you guys think about value on it?

I gave $500 OTD for mine at my brother's "Old Fart" gun club. Mine also cleaned up well and had the original grips. I think mine is worth at least $600, maybe more. I bought mine because it was my first issue gun back in the 70's. We had to buy our own before that.

This is the first S&W 66 that I have found in a long time around Wilm,NC that was a good deal. Usually if you can find one they are priced way high and wont budge much either. This one was surrounded by poly pistols and was overlooked sitting in the back of the display case. Poly pistols just dont have the nostalgia and class of a stainless S&W.

Not sure about the value to you...but...

there’s almost no amount of money I’d take for mine.

That's for sure; the poly guns PALE in comparison. That's a beautiful 66-1 and you should be glad you happened to walk up to check out that case. Nice purchase.

I sold one just like it for $600 last year. I walked around the show for over a hour before someone paid my firm price of $600.

Wow, at shows around here that's a great price for a nice 66-1.

I do love my HK semi-auto poly pistols but nothing like the love I have for my S&W wheel guns (and Colts!), especially the shiny ones!
