Price Check On Model 19-4
I'm looking at a Mod9-4 in the box with everything but the tools. It's a six-inch blue. Seller wants $1000.00. What do ya'll think? Thanks in advance.

Seems a bit high, should bring around $700 in that condition. These are not as rare as the four inch or the snub.

Very nice example, but about 20% too high.

What is the stated condition? I think it is a bit high, even if unfired. I have a 19-4 4" unfired box and tools, 3T pristine, that I would want in that neighborhood for. 6 " should be less money

That's a little high. The 6'' is quite common. If it was a snubbie (2.5") I could possibly see $850. $750 around here would be a fair price.
I'm discounting the 6" only because they made more of those than 4" and 2.5". The 6" is tack driver and a pretty decent 50 yd gun. I have a 6" 19-6 that I absolutely would not sell.

Our son has a 19-4 in 4" that he bought from a friend of mine's estate along with a 4" Model 629-4 for $1,000 for the pair. The Model 19 came with its box, used tools and paperwork plus is "fully-equipped" - target hammer, target trigger, red ramp front sight and white-outline rear sight. The checkered target stocks even have nice figure. It has been shot and there is some bluing wear on the cylinder face from the staining being removed but otherwise it is in extremely nice condition, both mechanically and visually. I think he did more than alright on the purchase.
Somewhat funny story about the 629 - the owner had always regretted removing and misplacing the target stocks from that gun and installing a Hogue MonoGrip. But when I saw it, I realized that being a round-butt gun, it CAME with that Hogue grip! The owner wasn't an S&W fan so he apparently forgot that he never actually did change the stocks thought that since one had wood stocks, the other should too.

About $300 too high, IMO.
