Default Model 10 revolver

Can anyone shed some light on the rib sight on this revolver. It is marked as a Mascot 1.

It appears to be a highly modified and specialized Police Pistol Combat (PPC) competition revolver. I have one which was prepared by Mr. Ken Eversull. Yours appears to be very similar to mine except for the finish.

They are often prepared for competitive shooting and preset on the custom rib at the front sight for 7, 25 and 50 yards. Both of our revolvers have a slab sided barrel which adds to the weight for accuracy. Mine is a modified Model 10-7 with a total revolver weight of 3 lbs and 10 ozs. unloaded. The trigger on mine is finely polished and set for double action shooting. It has a bobbed hammer and has an installed trigger stop.

Often times a lot of money and effort went into these revolvers which can now days be found for a reasonable price compared to the original cost.
