Default New to me 66-1

One of our local gun stores took in a few guns on consignment. I happened to notice a beautiful 2 1/2 Model 66-1 right after they posted it on Armslist. I called them and took it out of circulation as fast as I could and picked it up an hour later. It has paperwork, unopened tools and a very nice original box. Hope you enjoy viewing it.

That is my dream gun I was never able to find. Perfect condition, good for home, camp or carry, can be loaded mild or hot, stainless for easy care, good looking, quality built, good sights, original grip, not made in years, fun to shoot, durable, best all around utility weapon. I suppose it would also be a perfect safe queen if so inclined. Nice find.

Wow, it seems to have no turn line either.
Good score, I'll bet there isn't a lot of 'em left in that condition.
I have one, but it's a carry option for me. Not pristine like the OP's.
Enjoy it anyway you can.

Very, very nice. I have a 4" 66, it was the first S&W revolver I warmed up to (quickly...) when I got into things. I would love to have a 66 in that barrel length. I've now shot 686s too but I think I'm a 66 guy.

I just learned my friend Nate-dogg saw it first but ended up with another gun. So thanks Nate! I’ve had a 66-2 for awhile that I shoot frequently so this one will stay clean for a little while. They are great guns. Thanks.

Nice score! I've got its twin and it's a favorite carry piece.

Congratulations LPD. What a great find.

I gave a good friend a 2 1/2" M66 no-dash for helping me out a lot about 2 years ago.

He's ex LE and requalifies every year. This past year he qualified with his Ed Brown 1911 which is his EDC and then with the M66. He scored better than all the other officers that were there with their plastic semi-autos.

He absolutely loves that gun and had wanted one for years.

Love those pistols. I've got 66-2's in 2 1/2" (most recent), 4" (was able to buy my old service revolver during our Glock upgrade), and 6" (coronapocalypse purchase). Yours is a nice one . . .

Thanks Muss. A few years ago I scored a 6 inch model 66-2. It’s become a favorite shooter. What sold me was the Serial Number. AZB0256. My badge number.

Mine is the 4” variant that dates to 1973 complete w/box & two sets of factory grips.

LPD256

According to my notes, 86K7971 should be from 1980. A very nice package.

I've only ever owned one Model 66 and it was 4" unit.

Model 19 snubs, on the other hand . . .
