Default Question m27

I was looking at a m27 and when I dry fired it, it made a ring noise? I passed on it for now but why that noise?

Some just make that sound.

When you live fire it, you won't hear that ringing sound.

I have never seen a box stock gun make that sound, but I do know that the couple guns that I have put the Wolff power rib mainspring in, make a ringing sound when dry fired. It's kind of just a short ting and that's it, but it is noticeable.

When I hear that noise and I'm holding a Model 27, I usually interpret it as a cry from the gun to "take me home with you."

Seriously though, I think it is probably that the internals are a bit dry and need a drop of oil or two.
