The title says it all! I am interested in changing the grips on at least two of my small J frames and would like to see what you all have done. So bring on the gun porn and show me what you got! I saw a post a few months ago with some stags that were awesome but I lost track of it. I do remember going to their website and the opening page had a picture of a few people dressed for a western shooting event. If anyone knows who I'm talking about I would appreciate a link to them. Thanks guys.

I'm bettin' you are thinking of forum poster Executioner.
Look in the for sale section and you will run across his posts.
I have seen his stuff in person, and he does good work.

Does he have his own web site? The folks I saw before had their own site. I can't believe no one has posted any pictures yet! I know we all like to show off our guns and I know that people have changed grips on their snubbies, come on let's see them.

Very hard to beat a pair of stock, high polish, smooth Lady Smith grips. What ? $30 to $50 ? Mine are not for sale but they make any 2" J frame, blue or stainless, a thing of beauty. Add a Tyler T and you are good to go. (but detracts from the looks in MHO)--Luckydog

Here's a Model 60 instead of a 36, but same frame size. First with Rosewood Boot grips from Kelly's.
Then with Faux Ivory and Tyler.

That's the site, thanks a million! I have not seen the classifieds lately, it's a bad place for me to frequent, my money wants to fly out of my pocket there. I'll be very carefull though and check it out.

Wow these are impressive too. I'm going to have some hard decisions to make. I only have three J frames to cover and I believe I will have a few more grips that I like sooooo.... maybe I need to buy a few more revolvers.

Handy, you're welcome.
If you like good wood check out http://www.esmeralda.cc/. She has me "sporting wood" on a couple of my J-frames.

Here's a coupla' of J frames with smooth factory stocks. Not aftermarket but not as shipped on the gun when new.
Now if you want to get in touch with your feminine side ...
... you could go pink!

. Thanks for sharing O1F2, those are awesome. Are there any grip makers that make something similar to thoose with the checkering?

The 642-0 is wearing Uncle Mikes Boot grips
The 342Ti is wearing Eagle Secret Service grips
The 940 is wearing Craig Spegal Centennial Boots
The other 940 wears Uncle Mikes Combats

It's not a 36, but Spegels fit a J frame.

I think, handyman, that Hogue makes a similar style to my Hurst stocks that can be purchased in various fancy woods.

Ok . . . two pages in . . . time for some of the "Executioner's" awesome American Elk Stags. Patrick Grashorn RULES!!!
On a nickle-plated 1964 Model 36 no dash, and a 1980 custom 25-2:
This is a photo that Patrick too of a pair of K round butt Stags he'd made so I could see 'em. I liked the combination so much that I bought the gun from him too, a K-frame 2 1/2" Model 19-5 . . .
A nice set for an N-square butt . . .
I hesitate to post this next picture . . . for I hear from a lot of folks that they want to do the same thing to their 25-2 (or similar N frame) and put a set of Grashorn Stags on it to get this awesome look . . . and I hope their wives are as supportive as mine! . . .
NEW PHOTO TONIGHT . . .
I've switched the J-round Stags from the nickle M36 no dash to this blued 1971 M37 no dash. With the shiny black Tyler T-grip I think they look truly AWESOME on a blued gun. Great on a nickle-plated gun too, of course!
The M37 is my ALWAYS CCW handgun, and I believe this set is gonna stay on the 37. I'll have to get another set soon for the M36 . . .

This 36 isn't a snubbie, but it's got Executioner's on it, so I'm posting it anyway.

Here is a mod.19 Combat magnum of the 1970 era. has wo sight rear, red inset front, 3/8wide smooth DA trigger. S&W round butt Combat gripps were not available at the time so, I cut down, reshaped, and rebuilt a set of K smooth target grips, Liked the set up so well that I built a case for it, and have used it that way ever since.
