Default The Little Chief

Good morning All, I recently was given a S&W revolver days before my Father in law passed away. I have tried the S&W serial number look up page but all I get is no information available. I believe it to be(with my limited knowledge) a “chiefs special” with a serial number of J379152. My wife and I would like to find out more about this little mint condition revolver.
We also have a model 14-3 that has a serial number beginning with 1K we think it was bought in the early 70’s.
Don’t plan on selling either just curious about their history and what all you knowledgeable members think of these revolvers.

More knowledgable members will be along shortly but both are great treasures you should never sell. Have them checked over by a knowledgable person before taking them to a range.

J 379152 would be 1976, models 36,37,38,49 and 50 and the 14-3 1970

We do like pictures!
