Have decided to pull out some of my Safe Queens and make them Shooters!! All calibers besides the .45 ACP were easy!! I have a Pre-25 5 screw and a 6.5" Early M25-2 in Presentation case and outer cardboard sleeve to choose from! Who should come out and play?? All Valued opinions will be Deeply Appreciated!!
Thanks

I would shoot both of them. As much as we all like to think our guns will be cherished keepsakes or valuable to the ones we leave them to, the reality is, eventually they will be sold and shot by someone. Why not you?

I am in with the Duke...unfired guns are worth more...and your heirs I am sure appreciate it. Look, I am not going to subject a significant Smith to everyday carry, but I am not afraid to shoot them. Big difference in shooting the guns and "working" them.

I shoot all of my guns, including some rather rare/expensive ones. I also take great care of them. Used to have the safe queens but figure the older I get the less time I have to play.
Have life insurance and a house for the kids. The guns will reside with my 2 daughters who appreciate and know how to care for them in my abscense.

Interesting dilemma. I would consider selling them and acquiring shooter replacements in the preferred configuration. Unless, of course, you have always lusted after these particular examples to shoot! If so, fire away!
Cheers,

If it were me I'd shoot them. Out of something like maybe a couple dozen pieces I only have one that remains un-fired. It is subject to a trip to the range at any time.
As someone said b/4 me, a gun can be fired, properly cleaned and remain in very good shape.I have alot of pride of ownership in the S&W revolvers I own and take a lot of time to clean them right. There is no short cut to getting one clean and preserving it's finish. Take the time to do it right and enjoy your guns.

+1 on that! Life's too short not to shoot what you got.
