Default Help with a 19-2

This is one I received from my dad. I have no history on it. It's not a factory plate job as there is no n anywhere. Does this look like Bill Johns work?

I don't know who did the engraving, but it is nicely done and a revolver to be proud of.

Very nice. To me, the 2 1/2 inch round butt K frames have striking visual balance, with the profile centerline bisecting the cylinder notches and descending through mid-trigger. In complement, that tasteful engraving seems to accentuate the balance and make it even more attractive.

That it is a treasure is certain, as it was passed down by your dad.

It doesn't look plated.

It looks like a classic French Gray finish which I think looks very good with engraving. If it is French gray the finish is delicate. The metal surface is acid etched and then a very thin coat of lacquer is applied to combat rust.

Wonder who BJ is.
My engraved M640 is marked BBRN for Billy Bates, Registered Nurse.

That is not a good number. I've already tried.

A friend has a 2" mod 15 that looks similar to this. It is hard chromed.
