I’d say about the same for D/FW. When you see them, which isn’t often.

I bought a 65-3 at a show here about a year ago for $700. It's in near-new condition though it had been fired. No box or papers. Seller was asking $800 but I was standing there with cash in hand, and he wanted that more than he wanted the gun. I think that was about an average deal for this area at the time.

Today at The Big Reno Show, I found this pristine 3” 65-5. There were several 4”, but this was the only 3” I saw. Seller had it marked at $1250, but didn’t hesitate to accept my offer of $1k.

Very nice 3" revolver. Looks like a 1989 build.

Model 65
Great revolver and happy hunting but would it really be that hard for Smith to make a couple runs of them every 6 months ?
For years they have been reading and hearing about how they are highly sought after. just make a few thousand a year, charge $1099 and sell them.

I bought mine here on forum. Most I ever spent on any gun, $800. Money well spent, it is my every day carry gun. No regrets.

I paid $700 for this -3 in late 2019. It came with 400 rounds of ammo and the original stocks. It quickly became my EDC:

I found this 65-5 in a gun/pawn shop about fifty miles from home a few years ago at a very good price. It came factory I believe with these Uncle Mikes grips and it had a mim trigger and hammer. A buddy of mine had a brand new stainless K frame hammer I swapped for and I installed it. This is the most comfortable shooting gun I own. CCP 29xx.

I paid about $1,000 for my 3" 65-2 earlier this year with standard OEM grips. I pulled the Hogue Tulipwood grips off a 696 I also got this year.

I paid $1050 for this 65-5 about a month ago on GB. It’s the cleanest one I’ve ever seen (99%), plus I wanted it bad. No regrets, it’s a keeper.
FWIW I was “watching” a few similar items on GB. A few in good, but not great shape, were fetching $850-$950, gun only.

Sadly I sold my 3" 65 some years ago. The closest I come to one now is a 3" CS 1. Consider yourself fortunate, in Canada licensed handgun owners can no longer purchase or sell a handgun. Only criminals can buy and sell handguns.

Curious how you had a fixed sight gun changed to a fixed configuration? Can you explain and post a pic?

3 inch s&w 65
Last week I saw two in Connecticut. Both were in local gun shops. If I recall correctly, they were 65-2 and 65-3. The two were in great condition. One wore magna service stocks, the other had Altamont round to square conversions. Prices were $850 and $925

My M65 3" I found on GB some years back for somewhere in the $300's, IIRC.
Got it as a consolation prize to myself for stupidly selling a M66 3" years before for cheap.
Think I actually prefer the 65 over the 66 for it's intended purpose.
Pic is with the Lobo Gunleather 'Avenger' holster I use with it.

Have 2 here, one was a family gun, the other $600 locally. Carried the second today with magnas and T grip. Just conceals better than the factory combats I took off.

Great buy sir. and for sure, they don't pop up none to often. Would show mine, but it now belongs to my son as of two years ago. Told him he could pick a handgun and he passed over my 696, 686 3" and a pristine 66 snubby. The boy has good taste!
