Sent factory letter today,18-3 from 1969,no box ,99% Nickel.Anybody seen one before?Uncatalogued but nickel add 50 to 75% for nickel,according to catalog.Only mark is completely under one numbered grip.Cautiously optimistic maybe A GRAND

Yes, they do appear from time to time. Just as common are blue ones someone decided to do a color change on.

I saw one at the gunshow e had over the weekend in the box with papers probably mid 70's I think he had $450 on it.
I thought about it hard as I would like one to go with my nickel pre-15. But I decided to maybe try to find a nickel pre-18...although that search may be futile

Mike,bring some of your beautiful grips to B'ham and I'll see you next weekend. Curtis I believe I would have spent $450 for even a blue 18-3 with box and papers.I would like a pre 18 from my wifes D.O.B.1951,since I go back a year before they do.... Dick,I think I now have 1 of each color 18s,I have a decent pre 17 lettered to 12/23/47 shipped,which is 5 days before my birthday. Life is Good !!! Lance Maurer

Lance did the model 18-3 letter as being shipped in nickel ?
