Was going thru estate items and came across a lot of parts from a disassembled 5 shot .38 special. Bag said Model 35 but unsure.
side plate is numbered to yoke 3" barrel serial as shown. Any reason if was left unmarked???

Looks like a sideplate off a model 36 or 37. Is it aluminum or steel?

Here’s the K Frame Sideplate that I removed from a 686.
No clue how it got there!

The 5 shot .38 Special was only made on the J frame. I and J frames all have the logo on the left side of the frame, not on the side plate.

The steel version is the Model 36, the alloy version is the Model 37.

So 35 was just written incorrectly on the package or the 5 in 35 is a poorly written 6.

The matching numbers on the side plate and yoke are the assembly numbers. The 3" barrel serial not shown.
