Reflocking inserts in my 29-2 presentation case
Good morning all...new member here.
I just redid the case inserts for my 29-3...the inserts were molded and had no flocking on them...making it an easier job. However, the case inserts of my 29-2 are in need of reflocking. How do I proceed? Specifically, how to remove previous flock if needed. The bottom insert is molded plastic and top is foam. Any information is greatly appreciated
Pete
PS. Looks like ill have to get a photo hosting site in order to post the photos here, correct?

A quick soak in 91% isopropyl alcohol, then a rinse in running water will remove it all...It works on molded plastic or the older layered closed cell foam as well... ...Ben

You can attach pics from the Manage Attachments button below the dialog box. If you find they are not oriented correctly (upside down or such) re-save them on your computer or phone. I usually re-size them a tad just to be sure.

While not S&W approved method I just bought some medium blue felt and fitted it on the plastic/foam base. I think it looks and feels better than the flocking.

Welcome to the Forum! Looks like you're a pretty good DIY guy! However, if you want some professional assistance, Forum member jcelect (Joe) is a presentation case restoration expert. Joe does great work at a fair price. You can send him a Private Message here on the Forum...he may also chime in here at some point. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum.
I post pictures directly from my computer. Pictures from hosting sites eventually expire and can't be opened. Lots of them on older posts on the forum. It can be irritating when researching older threads, because I want to see some of the pictures originally posted.
Lastly, I think the second case looks fine the way it is. It's only original once.
Nice 29's.
