Hi everyone, I just stoped by a local gun shop and checked out a model 17-4 with a 4 inch pinned barrel, it's got rubbers on it and is inpristine condition. I don't know if it has a box and all, they want $625 for it.I've been wanting one of these for some time, but the price seems high, can any of you offer your opinions on this?? I don't have pictures but it does seem to be in very un used condition, although I'm sure it has been fired. Also if I was to make an offer, what do you think. Thanks Pigman

That 17-4 4" was introduced in 1986 to replace the model 18 (which in effect was/is a 4" model 17). Price sounds a tad high, but nice model 18s are bringing that much.

(As an aside, I have a diamond stocked 18-2 4" that I would be willing to sell for a tad less than that. Email me if you're interested.)

Pigman, here is a 17-6 with 4 inch barrel that I purchased last month at the local gun show for $350 out the door. I think $625 is on the high side.

In North Arkansas, I think it would be about $550.00.
