Found 2" model 10
Just found a model 10-7 serial #6D63853, like new. Just wondering about when it was made; it's a round butt .38 special.

I'd say 1980 according to my old copy of SCSW.

That same gun (in blue) was my first CCW and I unfortunately sold it back in the early 80's and bought a Model 60. Not that I'd ever carry it again but I do regret selling it.

Nice OP! I stumbled across a 2 inch model 10 a couple weeks ago. Mine’s a -9, the last before MIM.
I’ve had a 2 inch 64 for years.
I just like blued guns better……

Neat guns. I have a 74 year old M&P 2" and a much newer Model 10 2". I actually qualify with them just for giggles. They are neat gats.

Buy every one you find. They're just great.

Here are a couple I let go to some deserving friends of mine. Well, one is a 15 but they are both gone. The new owners are very happy.

What's the age of my "new to me" .38 special Model 10-5?
New to the forum, and first time S&W owner. Just purchased tonight, and luckily stumbled onto it. It's used, but I don't know how old it may be.
The serial number on this hand ejector is C639730.
If I have read the sticky posts on this forum correctly, this is a three screw (one is covered by the grips).
I also have a strain screw.
Pics attached.
I'd love to know anything you can tell me about this gun. Ive always wanted one, and am excited that I stumbled upon this deal (altho my lovely wife isn't as happy).
Thank you!

Serial puts that as between 1963-1965. I don’t have access to the catalog to narrow it down but someone will be along to let you know.
I have 2 10 snubs a 10-7 and a 10-5 with a bobbed hammer. Great shooters and both square butt. I am hoping to get a bill barrel 4” soon.

Darkside - welcome to the forum !
I picked up a very nice 10-5 square butt ser D7620xx last year.
I don’t have a date on it. As others have noted great shooters and I have shot qualifying course with it.
