Default My Chief’s Special

Hello all,
It has been a while since I’ve been on here but I just acquired a model 36 from my father in law and was wondering what year it was made. Ser# J22331. Thanks
Kevin

We don't have access to manufacturing information.

Based on others in the Chiefs Special database S&W likely shipped
your father-in-law's Model 36 in early 1970.

Congrats of receiving a fine looking 36 from your FIL. Hope you enjoy shooting it and maybe pass it down to someone else in the family someday.

Thank you for the kind reply. I think I will use it as a ccw on occasion. I’ll be passing it on to my son or daughter someday

Sure are a lot of nice old Chief Specials coming out of the woodwork lately. I have J176xx and it was apparently made in 1969.
