Default Need help with a cylinder not closing

I took apart a model 67 cylinder for cleaning and put it back together and now it won't close. The cylinder will go in w/out the yoke & the yoke will close without the cylinder but as soon as I put them together it won't close all the way. It's almost there but it's like something preventing it. Any help appreciated.

Install the cylinder on the yoke without the extractor rod and try to close it. If that closes then the extractor rod may not be screwing all the way onto the extractor star shaft. Screw them together outside of the cylinder.

Another thought. If you don't find any problem with the extractor threads, you might inspect inside the cylinder where the yoke barrel fits. If a previous owner installed an endplay bearing/washer, it may have gotten sideways and kinked during reassembly.

I've had this happen several times. Sometimes debris or a thread or something gets under the extractor that is not seen. Brush under the extractor and the extractor seat on the cylinder. As above, sometimes something gets on the yoke barrel or inside the cylinder too. Most likely, you won't even find what it is, it just works after awhile!
