S&W 28-2 PPC Revolver
This 1973 28-2 popped up locally for sale. Trying to decide if I need it or not. I have a 10-5 PPC gun and have seen several others. This is the first one I've seen built on a .357. The guy bought it used so he don't know who built it. Has Aristocrat rib with three position rear sight. Double action pull is 6 1/2 lbs and single action is 1 lb 2 oz. It's listed for $700. He's a couple of hours from me so I haven't put my hands on it to see how tight it is. I've got a 6" 28 no dash and a pair of 4" 28-2's but I bet this one would be fun to shoot. What do y'all think?

Nice old school PPC revolver. I liked how it was jeweled. $700 is a fair price. JMHO.

I would be all over that! Never seen a PPC gun built on an N-frame.

The labor and parts would cost more than $700 today, if you could get even get it built!
If built right, it likely is more accurate than a stock 28-2.
That would do it for me!
The cylinder bolt notches look clean, w/o much evidence of peening.
Probably a good deal.

What is going on in the second image with the jeweled parts? It appears the top strap or rib is cut for some type of scope mount?
Regardless, $700 would have that coming to me. I have barrels and cylinders to convert it to 45 ACP.

I think in the 2nd picture, it has a picatinny rail instead of the sight rib. I would grab that one for $700. Parts and labor about $800, the gun is free.

Probably the picatinny rail that Aristocrat offers that has the same mounting points as the sight rib.
