Default S&W 30-1 2" Barrel Value Opinion

Looked at a 98%+ 30-1 in the box. Has cleaning rod but no docs. Can buy for $625 OTD. Would like to know if this is a fair or great price. Appreciate your direction. Lou

I’m not sure it’s great, but around here it would be fair. I have a bunch of .32’s and love them - I even have a 2” one like that - but if I saw it, I’d take it home.

A few years ago, a friend of mine and I plinked at a 100 yard gong with that thing. It was a big gong, admittedly, but we hit it a bunch - and you couldn’t wipe the grins off our faces.

Haven't bought many high grade I- or J frames lately, have you? The market for these little guys has really taken off. I sold a fairly rough mismatched pre War RP 32 with a 6" barrel last year for $450 and the buyer was happy to get it. Nice J frames, esp with boxes, any accessories, etc. are doing very well in the current market.

You can always offer a little less, but I would not walk away from it again at that price!

The 2” always seems to add a little premium and are harder to find in that condition because they’ve been carried.

The matching serial number should be written in grease pencil on the outside bottom of the box if it’s the original box.

As described, I'd pay the asking price if I couldn't get it for less......Ben
