New to me S&W Model 10-6, DOB?
See update below, post #11.
:New to me S&W Model 10-6. Serial number 3D131xx. Pinned but not recessed. Tight lock up. No push off. Well worn finish. I may Cerakote it. I had pretty much sworn off the .38 Special due to ammo prices and availability. Paid $319 OTD. I applied for a store credit card. When it is approved, I will get a $70 credit; making the purchase price $249. Can anyone provide a DOB?
Added a couple of more pictures that will hopefully show the details better.
Pachmayr grips and vintage Bucheimer holster arrived today. Grips were courtesy of forum member BigMuddy. Both have the right amount of wear and age to match the revolver.

Yes. The only Model 10 revolvers that I know of that had counterbored cylinders were the special order Model 10-6 chambered for the .357 Magnum (NYSP).

Interesting "JP" mark. I have had two of the imported 10-7's that came here without barrels with the same "JP" mark. Did you get any history of the revolver?

A bunch of the "JP" guns came in 4-5 years ago, and I believe they came from Jordan (ex-law enforcement). I fondled a decent one at Sportsman's Warehouse that was listed in the low $200's, but was too dumb to snap it up immediately. Of course, it was sold when I went back to get it.

I have 3D137xx and from the tables believe it is also 1978.
Not a big fan of nickel but this one was cheap and like new so what's a guy to do?
Here it is with targets; now it has its original stocks and a T-Grip:

Update from Michael Helms, Firearm Historian:
Hey Larry, that's a cool revolver! It shipped to the Director of Public Security, The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Q Branch, P O Box 35, Amman, Jordan on 2/6/1978.
