Default Not sure if it’s a Jovino…

But it has all the correct mods. Plus the overall fit and finish is good. I guess I need to spring for a letter to be sure. I really like how it carries. Going with Galco speed loader carriers allows a nice load out of moon clips as well. For those times when you feel the need for the old PI vibe…

Congratulations on a wonderful addition to the fanily

Back in the day, lots of gunsmiths were doing the exact same style of conversion as the ones that Austin Belhart and John Jovino had started turning out

The only thing that set Jovino apart was that he ordered the revolvers himself thus allowing Dealers to order the firearms for inventory instead of waiting for a customer to ship one in for conversion. Though Jovino did walkin work as well

There is no single feature or group of features that will allow you to determine a Jovino from the dozens of other gunsmiths that were producing those style of firearms

My revolver was converted by Belhart

My revolver is also unmarked, the only reason I am certain of it's origins is that it was an acquaintance of mine that sent the Model 25 off for conversion. I recall when he brought it into my uncle Hal's range just after getting it back. He let me shoot it I was very impressed but at the time I was just starting college and did not have the cash necessary to do something like that. Upon his death, his widow asked if I would like to buy it and I told her I would take it and give it a good home

Revolvers like mine and all the others that were purchased new and then sent off to be converted will never let her in a manner that will allow you to tell who did it. After all the letter is only going to show what distributor it was shipped to fore initial sale

Understood. I just thought a letter MIGHT show it was delivered to the Jovino shop. I certainly understand there were several folks doing this work, and I don’t have any other documents to prove who did the work. I can say the modifications were done well.

Acorn shaped hammer spur, smoothed target trigger, round butt mod, added crane lock.

I’ll get a better photo of the crane lock in a few. (The one on my phone is quite blurry.)

I have a 325PD as well, but this all steel old school is much nicer to shoot!

Nice gun. Nice rig. My only question: If it's going to be a regular carry gun, which it sounds like it is, then it's not going to increase in collectors value. So why waste money on a letter. Buy more ammo and use and enjoy that rig.

Really cool gun. I've never run across one, but if I ever do I'll snag it. I would letter it regardless of your intended use. I like the letters since they remove the unknown with regards to ship date, destination original configuration
