According to the Standard Catalog of S&W, 1966 during the 19-2 time period. The 19 RB 2-1/2"has been a favorite of mine since my teen years.

Yep, 1966. One my favorites too. I just picked up another one, a clean -3 with combats. Couldn’t say no.

Iirc the 2.5" Model 19-2 was introduced as a regular item in 1966 but there were 50 produced 1963 serial range K544672- k544721.

On a side note the rear site leaf screw was relocated on the 19-3 series in 1967 so the dash 2 did not have a very ong run.
Also IIRC have seen late production 19-2 snubs with non diamond RB Magnas but never a 19-3 with diamond stocks.
That being said rule #1 with SW is there are no rules.

Yep. perfect in every way. After getting mine a couple years ago I lost all interest about making a holster for my hefty Model 27. I put Diamond grips on my 19-3 because I think they look classy. It came with chunky Mustang grips that look half finished. I just watched a crime documentary and a woman emptied her gun at home invaders and her gun was just like my Model 19 including the shiny T-grip.
