Picked up a 65-1 at a gun show yesterday
Found this beat up beauty at the gun show in elk city Oklahoma yesterday. It was a bit scratchy and had some altamont looking service stocks on it. I cleaned and polished it a bit. Put on some targets. It shoots fabulous. I’m betting it was an old service weapon from a department somewhere in the country. Also has a heart stamping on the frame under the left stock(grip). Not sure what it is. $650 out the door. I didn’t think twice.

I can’t help you on the heart-shaped stamp but it looks nice from here. Happy to know it’s found a new place to call home. ![Smile](https://smith-wessonforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif) Congratulations on the new revolver.

Absolutely gorgeous P&R k frame, bought at a great price! Doesn't look beat up at all in that picture. Congratulations!
I shoot my guns and prefer them to have a bit of character to them, so I'm not afraid to be the first one to booger one up. LOL!

All the deep ish marks are on the underside of the barrel. I polished all the light ones out. It shoots perfect. Locks up good. It’s pretty shiny now thanks to mother’s mag polish. Quickly becoming my favorite woods carry gun. Carry my k frames in a victory tanker ww2 holster out in the woods around my cabin

Nice find, I'd like to pick one of those up. First series, there are no M65 no dash. Care to post the SN to date it? Although it's a K frame, SN should start with "D". Original stocks would be walnut square bottom magnas.
I carried an M65 when on inmate escort details with DOC in the late 1970's-early 80's.
