Default new to me 5" S prefix 27-2

Any time I buy on Gunbroker, I kinda hold my breathe when I go to pick it up. This was one of the pleasant surprises. Other than the turn line, there's hardly a mark on it. I think it dates to 1968 to 1969. It didn't come with the tools, but I had some.

I didn't have a 5" N frame. It goes well with my new 5" Python.

Sweet. I have a 3-1/2", 4" and 6" and thinking about a 5". Then I guess I'd need an 8-3/8" - and maybe a 6-1/2"? I gotta quit doing this. Anywho, yours is extremely nice. Enjoy.

In my opinion, the 5" barrel is the perfect length for an N frame. Here is my Model 27-2. It is a bit younger than yours - it shipped in 1974. But I paid only $450 in 2015, and it came with the original box and papers.

Oh yes. Very nice.
I’ve taken a good few shots during the “golden hour” at dusk and dawn.

You stole that even at 2015 prices. I thought I did OK at $1075 plus shipping. But, GB thinks they need to collect sales tax on a used gun sold by an individual. Doesn't seem right to me.

S311707, shipped on October 8, 1968. I replaced the Magna stocks with diamond targets. Click on the photo for a better look.

It was kind of a special deal. I went over to my LGS to pick up a Model 34-1 that the owner was holding for me. I've known the guy who owns the shop for nearly 40 years. I've bought scads of guns from him over the years.

The 34-1 was a nickel 4" unit in Excellent condition and he called me when it came in. His price for me was $800, which I gladly paid. Then he pulled the 27-2 in its box out from underneath the counter, saying he had a revolver that I might be interested in. I looked it over and asked what he had to have for it. He said, "well you just bought an $800 gun from me. How about $450 out the door." I didn't exactly say "no." It came home with me.

I just have one 5" M-27-2 shipped Sept 4th, 1975.
I've had it now for about 8 years and I've never fired it.

That looks more like a 3.5" barrel to me.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

This was my pre-27 3.5" shipped 8/15/55.
My ex's birthdate.
