Helping out a friend new to S&W. He has a Md 35-1 Serial # M1497X. Looking for a shipping date. Every source I have looked at indicates 1969-1971 or so. Anyone that has a better date or has had a Registered/Historical Letter sent close to my serial # showing a better date? Thanks

1970 is probably a fair guesstimate as that number is dead in the middle of the range for 69-71.
