Generally it is my 40VE with a light on it. I usually have my carry gun near by.

4" tapered barrel Model 10 that belonged to my father. Ammo is the reliable 158 grain LSWCHP FBI load.

Sorry S&W guys (me included) when it comes to the firepower and dependability - easy function for the wife and kids - nobody can beat an ugly goofproof Glock 22. I bought two of them - police trade-ins last month for $299 each. One is in the nightstand, the other in the truck.

I have a 638 with ctc (5rds 110gn DPX) within hands reach by my bed.
I have an additional pistol nearby on the night stand. It's either a M1911 with 10rd mag (185gn Silvertips), a Sig P245 with a 10rd mag (185gn DPX), or a CZ P-01 with a 14rd mag (147gn SXT).

It could be an M&P9, M&P9c, 65-8, 29-3, or 629-4 depending on my mood.

A CZ 97B in 45 ACP. Extremely reliable, DA and I live alone so it's fully loaded. An Inland M1 carbine is pretty well hidden with a pair of 30 round mags in case the big quake hits.

This fits in the nightstand rather well; 15 rounds of 127 gr +P+ security pills and another 20 rounder. Bright sturdy flashlights and phones nearby.
This has to stay in the backyard, the awning keeps the rain off:

My CCWs, a 296 & 642, are stowed within arm's length, along with a Surefire E2D LED, on my side, while a 2" 10 is on my wife's side. Rem 158gr LHPSWC +Ps and 200gr Gold Dots loaded - HKS speedloaders so-loaded, too.
For Zombie attacks, near my safe containing my 625JM is a metal .223 ammo can with 105 loaded moonclips of .45 ACP ball ammo, with 35 more loaded moonclips, my range bag stash, on a shelf... that's 840 rounds of .45 ACP. Before my 'enlightenment', ie, change to the purity of the round gun, I once thought my G21 and two 13rd mags with +2 extenders was a lot... I feel safer now, especially after seeing the movies...

Normally, I rotate a revolver and a pistol that I've most recently taken to the range. I have them parked in a small bedroom safe I can access immediately. Right now, I have a SW 625 and a SIG P220ST.

Mine is a S&W J frame pro series .357,loaded with 38Spl +P LWSHP. I love the single night sight on the front. We night shoot at the range one night a month, and with this set up at 20 feet I can put two between the pockets every time. Really like the special grips that S&W put on these little gems.

sounds like CajunLawyer's wife and mine are long lost sisters!
I'd just wake her up early and tell her the bad guy had muddy shoes on...I feel sorry for that sonbitch!
If she needs backup, I have a pushbutton safe with a 442 and a Kahr P9 ready to roll.
