As I have realized the three and a half inch
barrel on an N frame is to my eye the best
looking revolver made,I have some questions
for the people with deeper knowledge.
What models and calibers other than .357
are available?
I would like a .45acp,am I dreaming?
Thank You

The .357 was the only model S&W made with the 3 1/2 inch barrel. There have been other N frame models made with a 3 inch including .44s and .45 (auto and LC) models...

Ld it has a real unusual fabricated grip adapter that allows the SAA style grips to fit. It is a fun & accurate shooter.

The 25 is very fine. That may be the way to go
if I want a compromise.
I like the modified 31/2,looks very good,but
the cost to modify a 4-6 inch 25 and have it come out right is an open question.
As always, thank you for your replys and
suggestions.

Forget the grips for a moment - How was your visit with Skeeter, assuming that is you in the picture?

Hey gaucho
Here are a few of the 3" N frames made in the last few years! The only 3 1/2" N frames made were the Mod 27.

It was definitly a highlite of my guns and shooting life. I have been a big fan of his since I first read one of his stories,
Had to drive a couple hours out of the way a few years ago so I could see Tierra Blanca creek and Deaf Smith County. My wife had a hard time understanding that side trip.
By the way his son Bart, a great writer & a Southwestern peace officer like his Dad, just might be on the forum occasionaly.

Fine collection.
I have a 3"629 Lew Horten.Could not resist an
N frame snubbie.Since my original post I purchased a recent 3" 25 LH from a member here.
Very nice.
Also just found and bought a Jovino in .45acp.
Still waiting to recieve, only saw one picture.
I little while ago there was a thread with
a very rare factory 29 with a round butt and
a 31/4" barrel.Without a doubt one of the finest
looking handguns I've seen.
I found it.
use find----"N frame snubbies".Well worth a look.

Greetings Sir,
I wholeheartedly agree with you taste in revolvers!
How about one in .45 Colt?
Find yourself a 38/44 Heavy Duty and call Hamilton Bowen and he can set you up with one of your very own.
Best,
Michael

Thanks for posting that picture!
What will you take in trade?!
On a more serious note, your gun was partial inspiration for my Bowen custom.
Long time no hear, hope you are well.
Best,
Michael

LOL!!!
Trust me, when your N-Frame-itis reaches stage 11, you'll be fine with one kidney, one testicle, and being in the doghouse with the wife. Once you get to have Ham Bowen build you a gun, you won't blink twice at much.
What part of the Farrrrrrr West are you in?
Best,
Michael

Hey Michael thank you for showing us your HB masterpiece. Doing pretty well for an old fart.
You have first refusal if (when) I ever decide to part with the S&W SAA .44. Roy thinks it went to Houston PD via Oshman's.Best to you and yours! Tony
