Any info about this .38 revolver is appreaciated, my Dad bought it in 1964 and left it to me when he died. I do not know how to attach pictures to this forum but will send BC to anyone that can give more info, ie, date manf., model, ammo safe to shoot in it. The 2 1/2" barrel and ejector rod are seperated, on butt has a V at front end and serial number 5181xx at rear end, looks like a filled in hole between the V and serial number where a lanyard may have been. Thanks for any help

To post a picture, upload the image to a hosting service such as photobucket.com

Then, using the toolkit provided by this forum, edit your post to add the URL to the image:

At the bottom right of your original post there's a little icon showing a pencil eraser and a manila folder. That's the 'edit post' feature. Click on that and a new window will open, with your original text in a white space.

Above the white space is a blue bar with tiny pictures in it. Click on the green one at the right end of the bar. Paste the URL of your photobucket image into the space provided and click 'OK', then click on 'post now'.

chockicker, if it looks like this, like waistgunner said it's a cutdown Victory model
this is v4592xx it was shipped in Nov. 1943
thats as close as I can get to the age of your gun
Mine is a .38 S&W not to be confused with .38 special
