Thoughts on N frame target stocks
I'm very serious about a 1976 27-2 6" nickel...very nice condition. however I noticed that it has speedloader cutout targets on it. they sure are pretty, but, probably not orig. to gun. how much would this affect value? I'm buying it to shoot,it has no box, case ect. $800-900?????? What say the experts? guess I could find some 1976 dated footballs? but why

If you are planning on shooting it and using speed loaders (or possibility of speed loaders in the future), I would leave them on.
Sorry didn't read carefully. To me it would not affect the monetary value as a shooter, however, you might use the "wrong grips" as leverage on the purchase price.

Doesn’t hurt the value much, since target stocks were not numbered. Nice football targets might bring $50 more than speedloader cut targets. Without the box and tools, I’m thinking $700-$800. 6” 27-2’s are the most common length and a presentation case/tools can set you back $200-$300.
Purchase a nice set of football targets and keep them in reserve. I doubt prices will come down in the future and you’ll be able to install the period correct stocks if you ever decide to sell.

Keep in mind that the football targets provide plenty of clearance for most speedloaders.

Best of luck with your future Model 27!
