Default 19-3 Grips

Hello all, I was wondering if someone might know if these smooth grips/stocks might be original to my 2 1/2" Mod 19-3 from 1967. There is just a "D" on the inside. I'm not even sure if the medallions are correct. Also, would these be Brazillian Rosewood? Thanks in advance.

Those would have been special order or factory after-market. Issue stocks would have been checkered Walnut Magnas. They are S&W factory stocks.

The medallions are correct, just have the Nickle plating peeling on the high points. They could be a Rosewood or Goncalo Alves. Accurately Identifying wood types from photos on the internet is next to impossible.

When you say Factory After-Market, or Special Order, would they have been produced by S&W?
Thank you

Very nice. would love to have them in hand. Open grain looks like rosewood but not like most S&W rosewoods. Medallions might be silver with yellowed lacquer.

I believe the "D" stamp on the back is the deeper part of the stamp "KRD", K RounD
