Help me with these grips...
I picked up these grips from the used case at my local range today. They were labeled "S&W N-Frame", and as I was looking for a new set for my 28-2, I bought them. I really like the design a lot, however they are not a good fit on my 28 - The back contour of the grip does not match the contour of the backstrap, otherwise they do fit onto the grip frame. Could these be K or L frame grips instead? I am wondering if anyone knows who made these grips, as I would possibly be interested in purchasing a pair that do match my gun. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

They look like K frame grips to me. Look at the area behind the stock circle (the shiny metal thing).

Yes, they're factory combat stocks for K/L-frames. There are similar stocks for N-frames.

Factory K/L square butt Finger groove Combat stocks likely from the late 1980's to early mid 90's.
You can sell them on the FS forum they fetch a decent price nowadays.

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it... I thought these might be K frame grips, before I even tried them on the gun they just seemed a little small to me, but I took the dealer's word on it as they buy and sell a lot of Smith and Wesson revolvers and parts.
I am now trying to decide whether to post them here for sale, or see if I can return them...

I had a similar thing happen to me at the last gun show. Bought a set of R.B. N targets. Marked that way, and seller assured me.
Tried them on a round N, and they did not fit. They were probably never on a gun. Paid $40 for them. A set like it went on ebay for $151 + shipping. K's. Going to hang on to them even though I have a 10 they would fit. Bob
