S&W Model 30-1
I picked this nickled 3" 30-1 in .32 S&W Long up today. I have $395.00 in it.
Serial #811078 so I figure it was made around 1969 or so. Looks like the OEM stocks are still on it.
It's in nice shape. No box or anything.
I have a extra set of S&W J-frame "banana" combat stocks I might put on it.

That's a dandy! If you plan to shoot it much I'd get a J Frame Tyler T grip. That combination with the standard grips on it make for great handling.

You really screwed up. That .32 revolver will do little for you. What with the minimal noise and recoil, the generally great accuracy, inexpensive to reload ammo, you will have a silly grin on your face that will only go away briefly; while you are holster hunting. Holsters for 3” barrel J frames can be had, but normally not off a shelf.
By Thanksgiving or Christmas you will be posting photos of the next one you picked up, or inquiring about a .32 a.c.p. The .32 is like cigarettes, pick one up and pretty soon you have a box full.

Ha! Fooled you, I already have a holster for it. A vintage Hunter holster in nice shape.
I have a Colt Police Positive 4" in the same caliber and a goodly bit of ammo. If it shoots as good as the PP I'll be very happy. I've popped squirrels in the head with it before.
I'm already a .32acp junkie, from .mil examples of various kinds to commercial. I have three .32-20 revolvers, two S&Ws and a Colt. I even scored a .32-20 Savage bolt gun.
Yeah, I like me some .32.

Nice snag, 1srelluc. Like you, I find those 32s pretty hard to resist. Where in Virginia are you? I'm in Lynchburg (Central VA) and like to get out and exercise various of my 32s whenever possible. BTW, I'm probably not telling you anything you don't know, but the 32 H&R (between the 32 S&W Longs and 32-20s you already have) and the "Big Dog" of the 32 pistol cartridges, the 327 Federal Magnum, add dimension to your 32 experience. I'm trying to whittle my accumulation down just a little, but my 32 S&W Long snub, my custom 327 Stainless K-frame, and my newly recreated Model 16-3? They aren't going anywhere!! At least one 32-20 will have to stick around too.

I haven’t met a Model 30 or 31 I didn’t like but those round butts with a three inch barrel are proportioned just right to me.
Congrats, now go shoot that beauty.

Agreed! A 3" round butt J-frame "just feels right." I'd just love another one, thank you!

Great find and great price.
It was built on the cusp: after the diamond was deleted from the stocks and before the H prefix serial # range began. I agree, very likely 1969.
If original stocks, the gun's s/n is stamped on the inside of the right stock.
Congrats!
