With many from which to choose, I'll usually pack one of these:

Just put a Crimson Trace LG105 on my favorite carry gun, a bobbed 1969 model 36. Haven't shot it yet to check/set the zero, but just aiming & dry-firing in my front room it seems to be a great aid to point shooting- very instinctive.

Warmer weather or when discretion dictates, you'll find my model 49 in a pocket or on the belt. Colder weather and heavier cloths will find a 1911 as my best buddy. Of course for those times when a day in the woods is an absolute must, the model 27-2 or the model 28-2 will share the duties.

In cold weather, it's my Kimber pro carry II, S&W M21 4" or M28-2 4".
But for warmer weather or for weight, my Chief 2"(1952) or the Colt Cobra(1970's).
In the woods, nothing less then any .44 or .45 I have.
The S&W 500 Magnum is just to big unless I am hunting with it.

Lately, I've been carrying my current-production Charter Arms Bulldog Pug .44 in a simple Gould & Goodrich belt slide. The Bulldog wears some vintage wood grips from an old Police Bulldog I have.
Great little combo. Way better than expected.
If not my Bulldog, I'm carrying my 642 in either a Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster, or a Don Hume JIT Slide (OWB belt slide) at 4:00.

Plain old 642.
3914 or 6906 for an auto, though I'm starting to like my 457 so much I might give it a go soon. Not yet, as I'm still messing with holsters.

P238 or Charter arms undercover light for everyday. When camping I have either my 19-3 loaded w/ .357 or my 1911 and when camping in very isolated areas I'll grab my Beretta A310 12 ga.

I have two guns I primarily carry: A Glock 27 40 S&W or my S&W Model 60-9 357 Mag with some of the nice Hogue rubber grips. Depends on the weather and how I'm feeling.

M642 in a Desantis pocket holster in my jacket or in an ankle glove holster. Like the Kahr CW9, but is a bit longer in the grip than the S&W so is pocket challenged, but is flatter, so carries IWB easier. Acquired an IWB for a Commander length Sig Sauer Nightmare Fastback Carry that carries well, due to the bobbed grip. Like having the 45. For backwoods carry a 5 in Ruger Redhawk.

I got a 327PC 2" revolver 2 weeks ago. 8 shots of 38special or 357 magnum. I was concerned about the size of an N frame for carry. This gun carrys as well as my Taurus 85 titanuim. I have the larger hogue grips on it, and the gun is a pleasure to shoot and plenty accurate. I trust the revolvers to be more dependable than semi-autos, and I don't feel under gunned with any of them.

642 on my ankle or vest (depending on what I'm doing and time of year) while at work. 642 on my ankle of left front pocket while I;m off duty.
Waiting on holsters to get a 58 and 27-2 into the rotate with the Colt Combat Commander in .45 ACP as a primary for off duty.

Always have carried a S&W J frame since the 60's. My current carry is the M360J in a El Paso Saddlery Combat Express belt holster. In the summer months, I carry in a pocket holster by Don Hume, soon to be replaced with the identical holster in black by Stoner Holsters.

When I feel nostalgic, M10 4in Tapered BBl, pancake holster, 6 loop extra ammo slide. Also use a 442, pocket carried in a cheapy Uncle Mikes pants holster.
When doing quals at county, leather holster made by Bill Jordan-Border style black basket weave, double speedloader case.
The "kids" get a snicker because my duty gear isn't ballistic nylon w/ a plastic holster, and I gently remind them that guns use to be all steel or stainless, and leather was the real cop deal. Like cars, they quit making them like that! Not to sound like a dinosaur, I do own a Glock 19, a fine pistol, and former issue weapon.
Can't retire the revolver yet though, still fires to poa, and use 158gr SJHP as a combat load. Great balance also.
I enjoy mine, and brought me home since 1986.

OK, maybe I'm a minimalist, but I like my post-War 32 HE Snub... that tiny little I-frame, or occasionally the Baby Chief. As the old sheriff once said, "Trouble? No ma'am, if I was expectin' trouble, I'da brought my shotgun!"

I usually carry my Ruger LCR, light, accurate simple. Sometimes I'll carry my Sig 220, 239, or M&P 9.

Almost always carry a bobbed 360PD j frame when holstering. Have been known to slip a BG380 in my pocket when dressed lightly/in a hurry. Revolvers rule for reliability and simplicity of function.

Well, it might be a 19-3 and also added a 342Ti which is so light I can't belive it is a revolver. I stick it in the Lobo holster and it absolutely disappears. Granted, it is a handful to shoot and I will have to tailor the loads to the light weight, but what a treat.

Never leave the house without s and w 351 PD.(about 10.5 ounces) It has 7 22mag 40 grain Speer GDHPs. I would like to find the S and W internal hammer 32 h and r mag version in this revolver. With my luck, if I ever leave it home just once, that will be the only day I ever need it, so its always in right front pocket. I watched a you=tube video of this round into an un-opened can of dog food. It has more punch than I want to stand in front of. I am fairly accurate with it. As Hickock says, Life is good!

Murphy's law guarantees that. But if you always (always!) carry a gun, you will always have one when you need it.

I carry a model 649 chambered for .357 mag, inside the waistband on my right hip. So far, this has been the best compromise for CCW in the seated position in the car, just walking around, etc. I carry in leather to avoid chafing, and my holster has a special clip that hooks over my light belt to prevent the holster coming out with the gun when I draw. My holster also has a special wire around the opening for the gun so I can return the gun to the holster without looking down to put it in the the holster. That way I can keep looking around for the inevetable additional problems.
I am considering going to a shoulder rig because it is even more advantageous to comfortable in vehicle carry. My concerns are that I have trained the drawstroke from the hip for something like 23 years now, and if I choose my shirt carefully I can literally carry all day wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and only a cop who knows what he's looking for is likely to spot me. If I shoulder rig that puts the gun under my right armpit. No t-shirt, and I might have to start picking out CCW clothes that will cover properly.

I just realized that I hadn't responded to this post yet. My primary carry revolver is a S&W65-3 3". Probably the finest fighting revolver they ever made!

I normally carry a 1911 of some sort. My favorite is an "illegitmate" CCO Colt pieced together with a light weight Officers frame and topped off with a Commander top end. This is a great shoulder holster rig in a Miami Classic [or original Jackass rig]. I carry two 8 Round mags on the off side mostly to balance the rig.For a more compact gun I carry a Charter Arms .44 with the barrel cut back to 1&7/8" and small grips. It's the same size as a Chief Special and it is brutal to shoot but,if you need it, it is just the ticket. Perfect in a windbreaker pocket for traffic stops and it doesn't make the driver antsy 'cause he doesn't know what's in your hand in that pocket!I have an early Mod. 60 snub and a mod. 60 3" Mag[also brutal with Mags!] which I love for casual woods bumming. I recently aquired a Colt Cobra and am currently looking for a Colt Agent 2nd issue. Nick

If I've got the time to dress for it and the weather's right, a 1911 loaded with 8+1 230gr Federal HST LE JHP.
All other times, I stick the 649-5 in my pocket with a galco holster, loaded with the ez-shooting Speer 135gr GDHP SB, and travel light.

Off duty, if wearing an outer garment (holster carry) Glock 26, otherwise, S&W 642 or Ruger LCP (right front pants pocket) depending on how tight my pants are.
The 642 or LCP are always in my left front pants pocket while on duty as my backup
