I came up with a 3" J-frame barrel, center pin and ejector rod to fit on a fixed sight J-frame.

Do I put it on my model 36 or on the model 40?

Opinions?
I'm leaning toward the 40...

I always wanted a 3" model 40! Guess it could defeat the purpose though. The only similar ones I have seen were in 9mm.

I say put it on the 40 as they simply aren't available. You can buy a 3" 36 any day of the week old or new. JMHO.

If you decide to not put it on at all, let me know. I've always wanted a 3" M38 or variant.
Email in profile. Thx!

Here is a picture of my Model 40 with it's new bronze Tyler T-grip care of member Superman.
That, and my new Shooboy hammer and some other shiny things!

Can you tell I love brass and copper stuff?

I am sending to my gunsmith tomorrow to have the 3" heavy barrel placed on it... I hope it shoots just as well.

I'd leave both guns alone. What's another inch of barrel going to do other than make the guns a little bit less handy? JMHO.

On the other hand, I have been known to change barrels (on bigger guns) myself, so I am a poor one to talk.

I have a 40 with a factory 3" barrel and I love it but I like the brass grip. where can I get one. I don't know if I'd install it but it is cool.
