I picked up this 17-4 yesterday at the B'ham gun show. 6" barrel, serial #81k17xx. The box and grips number to the gun. The guy said it is NIB(never fired) and it looks it. There were no tools in the box. Did this come with tools and what is the DOB? I've really been wanting a nice S&W 22 revolver.

Thanks twomoons, I have really fell for the old S&W blue finish. I shoot all my guns and the stainless ones are easier for cleaning, polishing, etc. but here lately the blue ones are calling my name. Happy holidays to you and yours also.
