Default My new to me .41 Magnums

I finally got my M57 and M58 .41 Magnums and I am very pleased with both of them.

My M57 is the first one pictured. It did not come in the correct box. The box was for a M57-3 and mines a no dash M57.

I do think it has a target trigger and hammer. If not just let me know.

I'll post better pictures after I get them cleaned up. I have bullets, primers, dies and power and I will order the brass soon and go sling some led at the range. I am very excited.

I was told my M57 is from 1980. N806XXX

Was was also told that my M58 is from 1976. N270XXX

Very nice - the 57 has the desirable triple T - Target hammer, Target trigger, Target stocks, and RR/WO - red ramp sight with white outline rear. I think that's a full house.

Very nice Kenny!!! Are these unfired? The 58 sure looks to be. The grips on the 57 are quite nice.

Why? That would be standard on a M-29 or a M-57.

Not sure about the sights, but all I've seen had that combo.

I'm not a fan of the M-58. One with faux pearl Magna stocks was the hardest kicking handgun I've ever fired, and I owned a M-29 .44 Magnum and a Ruger Super Blackhawk in that caliber.

If your hands are big enough, try Herrett's Jordan Trooper stocks. A pal had them on his M-29 and they substantially reduced the felt effects of recoil.

Congratulations: you are now well armed for hiking in Bigfoot country or where you may encounter bears or nasty pigs.

Beautiful .41s Pete. And I love that they are NIB.

M58

M57

Thanks Pete

I'm pretty sure that both of them have been fired. The turn line is really light on both guns. I don't know if that indicates very little firing or not.

As I mentioned before I am very pleased with both of them.

These are the only .41 Mags that I have ever held and ever seen.

I'm not "up to date" enough to know these kinds of things.

I am really looking forward to shooting the M58.

I shot a 4" M29-2 a few weeks ago (hunted rabbits with one YEARS ago) and I was expecting a lot more kick from it.

Don't know how much I'll shoot them. I just thought they would be really nice to have.

The first time I saw them I had zero interest in them.

Then I started looking and reading about them here on one of the most expensive forums I have ever joined.

Probably a dumb reason to like a gun but I have a couple M27s and one M28-2.

I like that the M28s were "plain jane" M27s and were made to be more affordable "M27-s" for police officers.

The same for the M57 and M58.

Once I learned that I decided I needed to add them to my small collection.

What I like most about the .41 Magnum is the Model 58.
