Default Model Number Picture Thread- numeric order please! (I’ll bet we can come close)

This may be fun, or it may flop like a sack of potatoes!

Let’s see if we can put together a thread with a photo of one of each Model numbered revolver (not each revision or variation) in somewhat numerical order. Some of the guns (Models 11, 20, 21, 22, 23, 56, etc…) are pretty rare and we may have to skip over them, but please be patient. Some of the members here have some rare and wonderful guns and this has the potential to be a useful thread!

I’ll start:

Almost half an hour and no Model 11? Well, here's a 12, 2" like the first post. Toroflow1's photograph, but my revolver.

Here's a Model 11-4 that was for sale on the web back in May 06. Here is what was said in the ad.
Stonecove
"Smith & Wesson Model 11-4, yes that is right... Model 11-4! This is one of the dozen or so Model 11-4's that S&W released from the factory in 1996. This revolver was manufactured in 1962 and sat in inventory until 1996. This revolver is NIB and is marked "SAP" on the backstrap which stands for South African Police. This revolver is chambered for 38 S&W. It has a 4 screw frame and beautiful blue finish."

I know we're past these, but I took this picture of my straight flush a while back for my Instagram page and wanted to share it here.

Do they need to actually be numbered, or is a pre-number model okay? Like the Model 26/1950 .45 target. If we can do that, I personally have a representative sample of each model from 10 through 29 (although I don't have pictures of all of them.)

Either way, this looks like a fun thread!

The Model 16 was the K-32 Masterpiece. Not a great number were made. At the risk of breaking the chain, until one comes along, and to keep the ball rolling, here's the 17 and the 18:

This one was shipped in 1962, to Capt. George C. Nonte. Fort Hood, Texas.

Aside from the 16, and I know they are out there, we are missing a 20. I could post a butchered 520, but that's not really the same thing.

16, 20, 23, 24 . . .

Some awesome guns posted so far! Back to the program - anyone have a Model 23 or 24? ... and we still need a Model 16-something!

I will help out with a rare one. 1950 45 Target, 4-screw, stamped MOD-26 in the yoke cut and shipped in 1961.

Looks like no one has posted a M 40 Centennial,
Otherwise it stopped at the model 50 Chiefs special target.

As the thread is revolvers only,
Staying in order would require models 53,56,57,58,60,60-4,60LS 38,
60LS357,63,64,65,65LS,66,67,68, Then C frame M73, then triple digits beginning with the 242.

If we skip the Lady Smith varients of the 60 and 65

Staying in rough order would require the Model 68, Then C frame M73,

After that we are in the triple digits beginning with the 242.

Anybody have a Model 68 they would like to share?

I lost interest when folks started jumping in with guns out of order.

The 16 is not that rare. There are a bunch of them that have been posted here before. Then it was at 64? Lost me.

Same 64 with a laser

Do we go to the 296 now?

Thanks to all who have posted photos and information over the last few years. The guns are close-to-in-order so that works out OK. I enjoyed seeing several models I had never seen. Now all I need is a magic wand....

This necro thread encompasses years of offerings and yet no one has posted any Model 16's. I was expecting to see some very nice model-marked K-32's but guess it wasn't meant to be. So you will all have to settle for my assortment of Model 16-4's...

The 4" and the 8 3/8" are wearing Hurst/Farrant stocks and the 6" is wearing a set of Keith Brown's.

I can offer up a 296 if that is the next step and we are going to continue.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Looks like there is no Model 33 listed in this old thread. The bottom pistol is a lettered 2" Nickel 33 from 1963. The other is a Chiefs from 1953.

I don't recall seeing a model 34 - so here's a model 34-1, made in 1981:

Here is a long dead thread. I think it’s still missing a Model 20. Here’s one for you. Interesting thread. Enjoy.

It also jumped from a M56 to a M60. Here's a M57 and M58 to fill most of that gap
