Default New to me 19-2

I picked this 19-2 up from my FFL dealer Thursday.

The gun was wearing correct dia targets when purchased but had damage to both panels at trigger guard area.

Thanks to our own Fleabus101 I was able to secure the current shoes it’s wearing.

Just love the proud sight pins.

That's a good looker! Never had a 19. Had a 13, 66 snub, and others similar. Never found a nice 19 at a reasonable price. Bob

That’s a really nice one Pete. Fleabus101 sold you some beautiful wood as well. Enjoy.

Nice 19-2!
The factory changed to an integral ramp around 1969 so there are a few nickel 19-3s with the blue ramp pinned to the barrel in 4" and 6".

A cost savings measure, I'm sure, but resulted in a bad situation if the front sight were to be damaged and nickel plated front sights are harder to see.

I really like the look of the black sight. How bad were the grips damaged ? I seem to recall there are members here who repair grips / stocks.

Default Damaged stocks

It must have been a pretty good jolt that caused this damage.

Yes I’ve reached out to our member who does amazing repair/restoration work.

Very nice. The 19-2 family is my collecting niche. Still looking for the right ones in nickel, 4 and 6inch. Also need a blue 2.5inch. Not likely to see or be able to afford any of the 3inch versions so I concentrate on the others.
