Hey im a new S&W owner. Just bought a model 29-3 6in barrel. I was wondering if anyone has information on the date of manufacture of my gun that doesnt cost 50 bucks from smith. Im just kinda curious so its not worth it to me. The serial starts AHZ56__. Any info would be great. I know its an 80s gun no p&r but thats about it. Thanks guys/ladies.

It appears to be the second half of 1985.

Since it is a later one, you could always call S&W CS at 800 331-0852 and they might narrow it down for you.
