Default Bodyguard vs 442 Trigger

I recently tried a Ruger LCR and didn't care for the trigger (which everyone raves about - must be my problem). I also tried a Bodyguard and liked the trigger. I didn't like the cylinder release and I don't need or want a laser.

I haven't been able to shoot a 442 but was wondering how it's trigger compares with the Bodyguard?

Any information and opinions are greatly appreciated.

I have tried the bodyguard, personally I don't like it. I haven't tried the 442 but anything can be better than the bodyguard. YMMV

Have not tried a Bodyguard but I have a 442 Pro. My 442 has a nice crisp trigger. I shot 100 rounds of WW 130 grain FMJ last week and shot 50 rounds with each hand, I did have two rounds off the target a B27 using my left hand and two in the head the rest were in the 8,9,10 rings. This was at 25 feet at an indoor range. So is no problem with trigger on my 442. All you can do is find one and try it,to see if it is what you want.

I bought a 442 Pro. Love it. I'm 500 rounds in and have learned how to grip and aim.

Maybe I'm crazy, but learning to shoot this revolver has made me a better shooter of my semi-auto pistols. Highly recommend the 442.

I've experienced the same thing. And I also seem to shoot my revolvers more accurately while watching the hammer cock back in DA.

I love my 638. I just wish the breakover point was a tad sooner. It seems longer to me than my larger frame models.

J frames take some getting used to. I have a Model 38 & a Model 37 and shoot both pretty often, but this is a perishable skill. If you don't keep up regular practice you're skills will deteriorate quickly.

Comeparing my LCR357 trigger and 442 (and my other J-Frames). At first and for a long time I thought the LCR was better. I guess because it is lighter. Later on I realized how easy it was for me to short stroke it in a panic or defense situation. I have a wierd trigger finger and that could be part of my problem. Any way I am back to liking my J-Frames best. (For the past 6 months or so) they have a stronger reset.

Had an LCR and did not like the trigger pull or reset. Have a 442 and like it very much. Tried the Bodyguard and did not much care for the trigger, (not to mention the bad reviews on reliability. I believe the reliability issue was fixed with a slight mod. to the firing pin.) Didn't buy it.

I have a recent production 442-2 and the trigger pull is, for a J-frame, very good. Minute of coffee cup groups at about two seconds per shot at seven yards are very doable.

Mastering the trigger of a snubbie will make you a better shooter..
I only wish I had every round that I ever fired from a J frame..

I assume that the newer designs LCR & Bodygaurd38 have a mechanical advantage over the coiled hammer spring that the Centennials do not have, But being they aren't all metal have that weird feel to them, I mean Glock overcame this & has become the #1 pistol on the planet.
I doubt if we'll ever see in our lifetimes anything better for concealed carry than the J Frame Bug Snubbie.

The triggers are smooth & lighter on the newer polymer revolvers BUT the triggers are smoother on the J frames!! Apples & Oranges

I completely agree that shooting a revolver (handguns in general) is a perishable skill, at least based on my own experience.
