Default What's the allure of the Model 16?

I wound up with one of the 32 Mag, 6" full lug Model 16s. It's nice enough, pretty accurate and nicely balanced. I haven't figured out what the allure is. I'm a big fan of the Model 27s, like my J- and K-frame 22s, but just haven't hit it off with the 16 yet. Anyone care to explain what I'm missing?

Go to the range, set target at 5 10 25 yards. Make 5 good shots and see them all touch!! (Hopefully in the bullseye). How did you end up with the model 16, and is it a 16-4??
For a long time in NRA revolver competion you were not limited in what caliber for bulleye shooting. This is where the 32 mag shines, minimal recoil, not as tiring to shoot the course. Lastly, I am not a huge fan of the full ejector rod lug especially in the 8 inch barrel.

Here is a thread I had earlier to show the differences. Model 16 happiness!!! If you end up not liking it PM me.

Does anyone like triplets???

It also makes a great small game round. It is really stingy on powder n lead use when ya cast your own yet pretty serviceable for defense if loaded right and needed.

I would have a hard time passing one up at a steal price and I don't buy anything I don't already load for at this point. I kick myself for not getting one back in the day...

I bought two 16-4's when they first came out, one for my son and myself. I even made up an extra yoke and cylinder in .32-20 WCF so I could shoot that round in it too. I regrettably sold mine, but my son still has his, and I keep asking him if he still has it. Hint, hint.....

You can load it to where a 22lr has more recoil than the 16, and you can dehorn a nat at 25 yards with it if you can see it. Here is a picture of my 10-32 that I built for Bullseye.

What makes some people want one is, there is not
enough 16's to go around. Don
