I own several DA revolvers in 357 that serve for range fun but also serve the more serious roles of home protection, conceal carry, woods protection and hunting backup.
My Uberti SA Birdshead 357 is solely for the fun of plinking and pretending I’m a cowboy.

I don't even own a SA revolver anymore. I had a Uberti Cattleman 357 that had about as close to a hair trigger as one could get. Other experienced shooters found that out when they shot it. The way I see it SA only is mostly for target shooting or cowboy action shooting.
I look at SA/DA revolver as an advantage in a bad situation. The DA mode for carry is the perfect safety feature also. That's my .02 anyway.
My Sig P226 9mm is DA/SA and I like that feature about it. In DA the trigger is highly unlikely to have an accidental discharge in CC while still in the full ready. The SA second round has a rather light trigger also.
My 40 cal P226 is DA only which I thought about getting a kit to change it over but after shooting it I decided I liked it as it is. Sig built it with a really nice trigger action in it. Again DA is the perfect safety feature built in. No levers or buttons to push or wondering if the safety is on or off.

My only single-actions are in .44 Mag, .357 Mag, and .45 Colt. I also have DA revolvers in those calibers.
Why? Well, why not? I like them all!

I took this photo for a thread on white grips/stocks but realized that with the exception of the percussion revolver, the rest are all chambered for the 45 ACP.
The Italian single action was once a 45 long Colt. I found an ACP cylinder so sold the long Colt cylinder and bought the ACP one. About 10 minutes with the needle files and timing was good. Cylinder gap was a bit more.
That was 4 decades ago. I have not regretted the change.
Why did I do it? I think because I wanted commonality among the handguns. I have been impressed with the accuracy and power of the cartridge.
