What is the matter with me? Can't help it
Man I am starting to think I have a problem. I just got a Performance Center 627, and I am already in love with another revolver. I have fallen in love with the 686 SSR (Stock Service Revolver). I MUST HAVE THIS REVOLVER!!! My 627 is so new I have not even had a chance to get to the range with it yet, and I already want another gun. What is my problem? At any rate I can find nothing negative about this gun on the net, so I am looking for experience's and or knowledge from you boy's and girls on this model. I really want to add this one to the collection! Perhaps after this one I can finally get to acquiring a .44Mag or two! LOL!!!!!

Wecome to the club!
I share your affliction. Call it Smithitis, gun a month club, gunism ....etc. The first step to recovery is to admit that you have a problem. However you don't have to take any more steps. We are here to enable you.

Yes, drink a bottle of Hoppes #9. That will straighten you out. I did that after buying 3 S&Ws in the past 2 months & couldn't manage to get up for 3 days.

It can be and is very addicitve just ask me last January I owned one my Dad's Model 10-5. and today well let's just say I have a bunch. I had them arriving two at a time at my FFL in early last year.
The sickness may slow down but it doesn't go away.

It's gonna get worse, before it gets better.
If you don't have a safe, you'll need one. If you do have one, you'll need a bigger one.

This is pretty much what I am going through. I was just telling my buddy on the phone that I got my eye on the 686 SSR, and now I want the Model 60 Pro as well. Man this could get costly! Man I love Smith and Wesson, but they gotta quit makin so many desirable guns. LOL!!!!! Really though I gotta start makin more cash to drop on more guns!!

Kingcobra, - Any good condition S&W 4" .357 is a good one. Personally my favorite is either a M27 or M28, both N frames and out of production but widely available. The M28 is the less fancy version of the M27. Both are blued finish carbon steel.
M 19/66(s) (M66 is the stainless version of the 19) K frames are really nice as well. The fixed sight K frames (M13 / 65 stainless) are also nice.
For simply a really good shooter, M586 / 686 (stainless) are also hard to beat. They aren't as collectible yet as the N or K frame revolvers, are extremely durable, and nicely bridge the size gap between the N frames and the smaller K frame guns.
You will not go wrong with any good condition S&W 4" 357 as a general purpose revolver. There a few warning caveats though. Once you buy the first one, you will want another one. Shooting .357s also makes you want to burn powder in S&W .44s and .45s. In severe cases, you also have to have .41s as well. If you are married, try to get your wife infected with this condition as well. That way when you feed the addiction, you can share it with her rather than POing her off so that she goes out and buys expensive shoes as payback.
Good luck. Pardon the humor.
