Default Lew Horton 629-1

I have what I believe is a Lew Horton model 629-1. It is Stainless, with a 3" barrel and original wood grips. How can I determine if it is, indeed, a Lew Horton gun. If it is, does that add any value to the gun?

Welcome to the Forum!

LH is a distibutor and will add no additional value to your particular gun. The same gun was sold by other distributors.

A three inch Lew Horton 629-1 is a very handy revolver that You can use for many different things. Self defense, outdoors ( hiking, hunting, fishing), informal target shooting , nightstand gun etc. There is a very wide range of ammunition available. even if You don't handload , there is a wide range of power levels available. I don't have a LH 629-1 but I do have an 3" 629-1 effector. very usefull gun , that I will never sell. in my book a 629-1 3" in decent shape is worth at least 600.00

Should have a serial number beginning with "ANC". Though never say never.

Although I don't believe they are Lew Horton guns I have a couple 629-4 Back Packer guns, one NIB w/papers. They have BRU serial numbers about 100 apart.
I'd understood they were only made one year and had some collector interest. Is that the case or just nice 3 inch 629s? What would they normally sell for?

I really enjoy the one I shoot and carry and bought it's mate a year later from the same shop more as a spare than anything.

I have a Montgomery Wards 28-2 4" that I bought new in 1978 from MW. Sadly the fact that it is a Montgomery Wards gun doesn't increase its value.
