Default DOB Help and "Value" Question, M29-2

A friend has a nice 4" M-29 dash two with the nickel finish, and is thinking about selling it to finance another purchase. He loves the gun but rarely shoots it, it probably hasn't seen 200 rounds through the barrel in all the time he's had it. He also has the presentation case, but no box, and still has most of the tools. He's asking me to price it for him, but I have NO idea what these things are getting on the market these days, so I'm looking for a general consensus on what to ask for it. The serial number is N705XXX, and if I'm reading the SCSW3 correctly, it dates to 1980.

Condition is 95-98% or better, he takes good care of his stuff, and the presentation case is also in VG Condition.

Any thoughts?

1980 is probably a pretty good estimation. A nickle, 4-inch, P&R gun, that's all desirable. Value, I'd say at least $1,200 and likely higher. We'll see what the more knowledgeable have to say.

Thank you, Herr Colonel. I told him it was probably worth $1100 or better, but the prices are all over the board these days, and I was hoping you'd chime in here, I value your opinion.

I haven't been called "Herr Colonel" since I left Stalag 13!
