I am sure this has been already dicussed, but what was the recall for on the 686 and 686-1.

Firing pin bushing and firing pin (S&W calls it a hammer nose). Excess clearance allowed the primer to flow back into the bushing with magnum loads, which could seize the gun. Guns that went thru warranty upgrades were stamped "M" in the yoke cut, after the model designation.
