.327 Federal 632 Power Port Range Report
Took my stainless 632 (see pics from earlier post) outside today. About 40F but windy. Do NOT try this cartridge because if you do you will get hooked. 100 rounds of Federal Hydra Shok .327 were just plain enjoyable to shoot. Had my target at 10 yards and the groups were very, very tight. recoil was barely noticeable and the cartridge was so flat shooting that hitting the gong at 100 yards was easy and boring with a dead center hold.
I then took it indoors with 80 rounds of 85 grain hydra shoks in .32 H&R magnum(the .327 velocity is way over the indoor ranges 1,100 FPS limit). It was accurate as hell and the recoil was like shooting a .22. Within the next couple of weeks i should be able to test all of the factory ammo out there and will report. I will probably get another one of these revolvers.
The only negative to report iis that the forward screw on the adjustable sight piece was loose when i got home. I was going to bring it up to Smith this week to have the trigger smoothed out/lightened a little so i will have them fix that while its there.
I think the folks who cam eup with thiis cartridge may have something here.

The ammo choices have increased since I last checked. In addition to the original Federal American Eagle 100 gr JSP @ 1500 fps mv, they are now also listing a 85 gr @ 1400 fps.
Their other load is the Hydra-shok 85 gr @ 1400.
Speer is listing 2 loads, a 100 gr GDHP @ 1500 fps and a 115 gr GDHP @ 1380.

Thanks for the info! I had Hamilton Bowen build me one on a K frame with 8-3/8 full lug barrel a few months back. I've only shot it with Hydra-shocks and .32 Longs so far. When time allows, I'll try some hotter loads over the Chrono to see what the longer barrel does.

.327
I don't reload but the .327 Hydra shoks i get for about $20 per box(20 count). Even the Cabela's here only wants $20.99. There are better deals on the internet. Federal American eagle box of 50 for $25.

You won't have any trouble selling the brass if you want to. So far I haven't found a source for brass other than factory ammo.
Your picture of your stainless gun cost me, I liked it enough to buy that one too.
