Default problems with 460xvr

I have to send my 460 XVR back to S&W again. The problem this time is...about 1/2 way back during a double action trigger pull, the trigger catches and you have to pull against a hard spot to finish the shot.

The last problem I had with the gun was creep in the trigger during a single action shot. Not knowing when the gun would fire was unnerving. S&W replaced the trigger and hammer that time. They also fixed the 0.010" endshake and re-set the barrel for a 0.006 B/C gap.

I called the mother ship, and they are going to send a shipping label.

Anybody else having problems with their X frame?

Zero problems with my 5" 460v & 4" 500 since 2007.

My brother-in-law has the XVR with no problems though he only has 80 rounds through it.

The hand is to tight if it does it on all cylinders, if it is only one cylinder it will break itself in.

Yep, it does it on all holes. It did NOT have the tight spot during the trigger pull right after I got it back after the new trigger & hammer job. The tight spot happens at the same place every time and on every hole.

My observations...At the beginning of the trigger pull, the cylinder stop drops down and then the cylinder starts to rotate. Pull the trigger a little more and the cylinder stop pops back up. That is the exact spot where the trigger "sticks".

My 460 the cylinder release thumb bolt/screw was loose causing it to catch the hammer inside on the pull. Check this and tighten.

I bought my 460xvr three years ago. I`ve shot about 5-6000 rounds with it. the only problem that I`ve had with it is When I pull the hammer very slowly, and the hammer cocks, the cylinder is not locked..the "hand" was to short to push the cylindar into lock before the shot. got a new hand from the dealer with no cost, changed it and the gun is as good as new.

My 460 XVR has developed a cylinder problem. When the cylinder is rolled out to eject brass and re-loaded, it hangs up going back in!! When I say hangs up I mean locks up!!! It won't go back completely into the frame! It doesnt do it every time and if u turn the cylinder it pops rite in!!! I think the ball detent in the crane is hanging up, but, am not sure?? Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas?????

bigwes .. On my 460 XVR when you open the cylinder to eject brass (barrel pointing up) then go to reload (barrel pointing down) the crane slid out far enough my cylinder and crane fell to ground. Happened within first 40 rounds, is at the gunsmith for repair now.
