Default Model 60 .38/.357 conversion?

Appologies if this has been covered, did a quick search and came up with nothing. I am wondering if it is easy/possible to do a conversion on a Model 60 in .38 spcl to fire .357 mag.

Thanks in advance for the assistance folks.

Not practical and I may be wrong but I think the cylinder length precludes a conversion even if use of the thinner barrel was advisable which I don't believe it is. But they make the model 60 in a 'magnum frame' version which can be found around and are still produced. I think the last pre-lock 60/357 was the 'dash 9' version, with MIM hammer and trigger with frame mounted firing pin.

Thanks Fred, I thought the cylinder length may be a problem but I did not consider the barrel thickness.

What I am looking for is a Model 60 .357 pre-lock with a 3'' barrel. The only ones I have seen all have ported barrels, which I do not want. Guess I'll keep searching.
Thanks.

Nothing wrong with a Ported barrel and a J frame.
It's actually a bit nice to shoot than a regular barrel.

There is one version of the model 60 that fits your description - 3" barrel, target sights, made between 1996-1999, I think it is the -10.
