Default Price check... 29-5 10.5" barrel

Howdy all,

Stopped by a little shop today, and they had a S&W 29-5 with a 10.5" barrel with 4-position silhouette front sight.

very clean - no box, rubber grips. I kinda like it - don't need it, but like it. They are asking $600.00

What's fair on these today?

Also - they had a model 57-1 6" - showed some past rust, but not terrible. For this they were asking $665.00 - I think that one was high.

Thanks for the help,
Bob S.

That price is probably okay. The 10-5/8 inch Model 29's never were in high demand, thus keeping prices in check. The people who love them, however, really love them.

Yours is one of the 10-5/8's last year's production, according to SCS&W III. The -5 version may have been the best one to own and shoot, as it had both the endurance package upgrades and the longer bolt locking notches on the cylinder.

All of the ones I saw for sale or owned had wooden target stocks, but then, I have never seen a -5.
